Do I need a NDA?

📝 The answer is yes. In fact, my client just thanked me for insisting on a customized NDA.
Why? Because we clearly defined the business purpose for the NDA.
All too often, I see the same standard template NDA passed out which says the parties are "evaluating a business relationship" which will include an exchange of confidential information.
"Evaluating a business relationship" doesnt define anything and ultimately doesn't protect your client.
Three things you always need to pay attention to with a NDA:
1️⃣ Define the purpose of the NDA
2️⃣ Define what is covered by the term "confidential information"
3️⃣ Obligations of the Parties
NDAs are often the first legal doc in a deal—but skipping the details can cost you down the line.
